yesterday i saw devdas for the first time, the SRK one.. supposed to be the adaption of devdas novel in true sense( the other one and not the pure one as per the purist! dev D!). and it made me think, who is the true hero, devdas or dev d.. the pursit may say devdas was the true lover, and dev d, well just a pale imitation with its many flaws. If one may ask my opinon( which i doubt anyone will!!) i feel dev d was the true hero. He had bigger flaws than devdas( in addition to liquor he used to dope too!! haha) , but than he did not die in the end and finally found love! Happy hindi movie ending! that's what heores do, win in the end, right? and plus there were more layers of flaws in dev d than devdas had( if u negate the stammering flaws of SRK!), more shades of grey than white, black, etc. All in all dev d was the one with more deviation than the normal, but at the same time, you can find people like him in today's world. Anyways, i am no great critic so it does not matter much what i think. But since i have the power of blogging in my hand atleast i hope someone wil read it! till than three cheers to anurag kashyap, keep belting out such genius work.

Dev D was edgy.. It was like watching a rollercoaster dipping and rising through waves of Vodka, dope, women and sex( probably.. they didnt show much).
But i feel it made more sense.. Human beings were never black and white creatures, everyone had a dark secret. Its now that the hero is actually also an anti hero or has shades of grey. Its today that we accept protaganist with wild and grey streaks.. we accept humans as heroes and appreciate them ..
Well, brother to be frank I hated Dev D movie like anything, I felt guilty to watch it. According to me it was cheap satire on original Devdas novel and movies. Found it highly unethical n' impractical. One of major flaws I found is when Deol asked Mahi for her nude picture .. she takes a snap of herself, goes to Photo Studio for developing and then goes to Cyber Cafe for scanning and then finally mails it to him, I wonder when she got Digicam why didn't she sent it straightaway from her pc??
Anyways, one thing I appreciate wholeheartedly and that's its music. I rate the music 4/5.
You've right to disagree, may be I'm more retro thinking, man of principles n ethics. But am proud of it. :)
Rock on

i feel the same way gunjan. its common these days to notice the shades of grey in people. we are more open to accept them. and i feel what we do with those shades in us makes out a hero among each one of us.
never mind bro, to each man his own views! we live in a society which gives freedom of speech to one and all! but than don't u think, devdas was the one with more dark shades and a looser attitude to live. we have flaws bro, but than how we overcome is more important than not accepting them or hiding them! and as for the pics! i guess give this much to anurag!! music was amazing..i simply loved "oh pardesi"!
